The DDD Magazine Spread

(Updated March 14, 2014) I've known Larry Clark since the 90's. If you don't know about Mr. Clark then go do your homework. Clark inspired and influenced Scorsese, Coppola, Van Sant, and MANY MANY MANY artists in the world! Ingrid Sischy has said that Clark influenced the last 50 years of FASHION photography! (from Helmut Newton to Mario Sorrenti to Mario Testino to Nick Knight to Terry Richardson - they all claimed Larry Clark as their IDOL!) And for all you Photography GEEKS out there, you already know what I am talking about! For the CINEPHILES, the TRUE CINEPHILES you already know Clark is a GOD in cinema. For the FASHION HEADS, Clark influenced Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Raf Simons, and the list goes on... for MUSIC HEADS... Clark influenced Lou Reed, Keith Richards, Tyler the CREATOR, and MANY MANY OTHERS! Larry's art has been collected by some of the richest, most powerful, and influential people in the world! People have paid in the millions for Larry's photos and some of the photos Larry has taken of me go for at least 20k to 50k.

Please don't even try to talk to me about photography, cinema, music, and let alone Larry Clark if you haven't done your homework. I've studied photography history, cinema history, music history, art history... and I know what I am talking about here.

LARRY CLARK WILL GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE WORLD'S PIONEERS WHETHER YOU ACKNOWLEDGE IT OR NOT... (and some of you may be wondering why I am ranting about this or going on a tangent.. because I'm annoyed of people approaching me with stupid questions regarding Larry Clark when they have no clue about Larry's body of work and about Larry's status in world/international art! And I will challenge anyone of you in person about Larry Clark's work and where it stands in the world. TRY ME. You tell me what other artist made a seminal book at 21 years old call Tulsa and at 71 is still making movies that are winning top prizes at film festivals? Larry Clark's book Tulsa is one of the art pieces that changed the outlook on cinema, photography, art, and music forever... I challenge anyone else to tell me different. All the names I listed above have been influenced by Larry Clark and there are more names where that came from. All the cinematographers that were influenced by Larry Clark like Chris Doyle Mark Ping Bin Lee... and other legends in photography such as Nan Goldin... no one can touch Larry Clark... I know you want to hate on Larry, be my guest, and his body of work will stand on its own... and as Larry says, "The Legends will stand!"

Like I said... any of you morons who seriously think Larry ain't shit, well... ha ha ha... think again. Knowledge is power and I suggest you read up about him... but as Larry says... Haters need a damn job. :) If you have no clue about art history, don't bother talking about Larry Clark... because you'll just make yourself look like a damn fool.

Tiffany's Day in Venice...

Q and I went to a 50's restaurant for lunch. It was fantastic! I loved the posters on the walls. He told me about the old theater in Venice where he first became a fan of Godard.

Than he drove me to meet Asa aka "Leopard Lady"!

Asa and I later walked around Venice and enjoyed the day.

Later watched Asia Argento's Scarlet Diva. I hadn't seen it since it first came out and I really liked it alot this time around.

Now we are just watching Bully and working.

MY FAVORITE Larry Clark photo from the book TULSA! I love this photo so much I just feel like I can't stop looking at it. Its just apart of my soul for some reason. I feel like the girl in Chaotic Ana when she looks at Said's painting of a bird. I feel like somewhere in a past life (if there are past lives?), I was connected to this picture. Its strange but I love the feeling it gives me. When I was 19 years old I did an interview with Gus Van Sant, Bruce Weber, Lou Reed, and Andrew Wylie along with Alix Browne for V Magazine/Visionaire. This was the photo we used for the article because it was my favorite! I LOVE THIS PHOTO. Claudia said that she saw the magazine at a store on Prince St. and Thompson St. If anyone has an extra copy, send me one! I already asked Larry but hey, I wouldn't mind having as many copies of this issue as possible. Its COOL that they used this photo for the cover!

My homie JC came over because I hadn't seen the homie in a long time! We also watched A$A's unfinished music video/short that I worked on. THAN, we watched the infamous SOUTH PARK epidsode with Kanye West regarding FISH STICKS!

JC and I than ate Lasagne, Bread, Steak, Rice, and TACOS while watching Million Dollar Baby. Interesting.

I don't know if some of you remember my dog Snappy! He turns 14 years old this month. My friends from high school can't believe he is still around! Even my family can't believe he is still around. He is my baby and good luck charm. I love him more than anything. Larry Clark did an installation of him in 2005 for his pUNK Picasso art show. I use Snappy in my writings and in other projects as well. Bruce Weber even featured Snappy in Italian Vogue! HA HA HA! Larry Clark even used Snappy for a Christmas card once! I think the year was 2003 or 2004? I can't remember. He is in Larry's books and he is a well known little celeb in my circle. Oh yeah! We did a Cheapdate magazine spread with him along side Paris and Nicky Hilton! That was a hoot. (Cheapdate magazine - founded by Kira Jolliffe and Bay Garnett. Guest editors included Liv Tyler, Kate Moss, Marlon Richards, Rachel Weisz, Chloe Sevigny, Jerry Hall, and... I was a contributor.

Snappy got a new SHORT hair cut! As some of you might know, he has had blue mohawks, long moppy looks, and a totally skinned look. Here are some pics of his new short cut with his orange Texas Longhorns sweater and his light blue scarf! Awe. ;) His nose has gotten lighter in color with age and his eyes have cataracts now. His body aches more too but we take really great care of him.
