TEXAS HIATUS.... NEXT UP... TAHITI !!! (Larry Clark, Tiffany Limos, Nicolas Cazalé, Marlon Brando)

While writing, reading, and devouring films Claudia sent me this photo below.

Billy Mann and his baby from the book TULSA by Larry Clark.
Photobucket

MY FAVORITE Larry Clark photo from the book TULSA! I love this photo so much I just feel like I can't stop looking at it. Its just apart of my soul for some reason. I feel like the girl in Chaotic Ana when she looks at Said's painting of a bird. I feel like somewhere in a past life (if there are past lives?), I was connected to this picture. Its strange but I love the feeling it gives me. When I was 19 years old I did an interview with Gus Van Sant, Bruce Weber, Lou Reed, and Andrew Wylie along with Alix Browne for V Magazine/Visionaire. This was the photo we used for the article because it was my favorite! I LOVE THIS PHOTO. Claudia said that she saw the magazine at a store on Prince St. and Thompson St. If anyone has an extra copy, send me one! I already asked Larry but hey, I wouldn't mind having as many copies of this issue as possible. Its COOL that they used this photo for the cover!

Tiffany Limos on Hiatus.

Dear Fans and Friends,

I have to go on a much needed hiatus.
I have alot of work ahead of me and I am elated!
So you won't be hearing from me for a while.
I have to take care of business.
When I return, it will be well worth it for all.

I watched Ma Mere, The Grocer's son, The Piano Teacher, The Voyage, and Born into Brothels today. Yes, I watch movies back to back and I can watch a record breaking ten movies back to back. I just love it. (the only person who can battle me by watching more films is QT!) I also checked out a few great Marlon and Tarita Brando links. Superb!

I am a huge fan of the actor Nicolas Cazale. I am also a great fan of the actress Isabelle Huppert. That's why I decided to watch these films today. I had also been meaning to watch Born into Brothels and I cried watching it. It reminded me of the kids in the Philippines, Thailand, and Algeria. Its a must SEE! If you have netflix you can watch it on your computer. I highly recommend it. 4 STARS.

I will leave you with something I found on the internet. While I'm focusing, you should be focusing too.

Ciao,
TL

.......................................................

How to Focus on FAITH.

Focusing on faith can be an extremely difficult thing to do. In today’s world people are obsessed with amassing as many material possessions as they can while they are alive, then they do not have much time for spiritual activities such as focusing on one’s faith.

One way of focusing on faith would be to believe in the teachings of your faith. Thus, it will be important to read on the teachings of your particular faith. If you are a Christian, it would be urgent that you would be familiar with the Holy Bible. If you are a Muslim, then reading the Koran is what should occupy a fair part of your spare time. For Buddhists, reading the Tripitaka or any other important article will help you keep in mind the principles on which one’s faith was founded. Of course reading here does not merely mean plain reading of the text, but involves concentration and understanding. Ultimately, it will involve applying what the teachings require you to do.

Another way to focus on faith would be to attend church or faith services as often as possible. Sometimes you can simply attend an interfaith or a prayer meeting during a lunch break at the office or during a quiet afternoon in the home of a friend. Going to such prayer meetings not only strengthens bonds among the attendees, but also strengthens your faith in their beliefs. Attending church or other faith services also helps you participate in a communal activity for groups of people with the same faith. If a certain group of people have the same objectives with respect to their faith community, then it will be these people’s faith that can drive them to achieve all their goals.

You could also set aside time for meditation and reflection. Some quiet time without any distractions allows you to concentrate on what you are thinking. Also, the removal of any distractions also lets you think about the greater issues in your life – of your role in the community and ultimately, in this world. You are also able to think about your own mission in life, and to model it after someone who he believes in.

Lastly, it is important to act out your faith. This is not to say that you ought to act ala Joan of Arc and begin to battle with those who do not believe in God, but rather to apply the teachings of your faith in the little things that you do in your everyday lives. If God taught you to love one another, perhaps then it is about time that you avoid passing judgment on people immediately. If God taught you to be generous, then you should give more to people in need. If you do not have the material resources, then volunteering your time in a shelter or in a government day care center is certainly equal to ‘acting out the part.’ It will never be difficult to focus on faith as long as your mind is clear of any distractions and as long as you are willing to be focused on it.

I wish people would stop acting like they invented the damn wheel and just eat some damn fish-sticks already!!! (& MORE TONY MPOUDJA FOR THE LADIES!)

I just watched three films in a row AFTER watching Grand Ecole again. Rebel Without a Cause, Streetcar Named Desire, and Porcile (because I am such a Pasolini fan). I am a huge Nicholas Ray fan... and Marlon Brando fan.

I have been hearing alot of things on the ground and roaming the internet while on hiatus. Mmmm. What I don't understand is people who are actresses with big paychecks who produce who really think that they are producers? Do they really think that they can actually produce? Come on honey, that is just your money you are adding from your paycheck, you aren't really producing. A producer is someone more than a paycheck! Of course there are different kinds of producers but the producer that a few of these chicks are trying to claim being aren't the kind of producers they claim to be. Peter Piper Pecked a Peck of Pickled Peppers, okay! AND some actress out there that I know!!! This really irritates me to the hilt. They say they are "writers" or that they are "collaborating" ha ha ha PUH-LEASE! Hiring someone to write a damn book or screenplay for you while you sit there and twiddle your thumbs and blab out a few ideas while the "hired" writer is licking your ass and telling you those ideas are GREAT DAH-LING... when he actually hates them and spins them into a respectable story while you take all of the credit. LAME! I don't know how you girls can sleep at night. But writing is something that takes time to develop, its a craft just like any other craft. You can't be a writer OVERNIGHT! That's just Bullocks. You guys have been listening to that damn 48 LAWS of POWER for too long! That is so 50 years ago. Just be yourself, be original as you can be... at the least be authentic... and don't take credit for something you didn't do. MERDE!
All you out there, you know who I am talking about. Its annoying when people take credit for more than they should.

I have done alot of things in my career and half the time I don't take credit because I don't care. It should be more about THE WORK instead of a TITLE! Who fucking cares anyways! It doesn't matter. Only the people in your circle, mine at least, should know what you are capable of. The people in my circle know of the things I have done and they aren't listed on imdb.com or wikipedia. It seems like that is all people care about and then they make it out to be like they have done more, they feel more entitled. Its completely ridiculous.

Oh and when rock stars think they are designers. I know they are trying but someone please smell the roses. Do you seriously think that your fame and money is going to make you a legitimate designer? That makes me laugh. Than I have been keeping my eye on the news lately and it seems that Raf Simons has resurfaced out of no-where. I have known Raf since 1999 via Alix Browne during the Visionaire days. Raf Simons is a fan of Larry Clark and actually Larry Clark inspired Raf Simons to be a designer, thank you very much. So I don't get what all the hoopla is about? I mean, all these people who think that because they have money now, they can go to shows and meet these designers ... that they are now fashionably stable!
Literally. Just because you have money now doesn't mean anything. Fashion is about your individual style. Its not about buying vintage Stephen Sprouse right at this moment because Louis Vuitton dedicated a collection to him. Sometimes I don't get people at all. Sometimes I just sit and laugh at how ignorant they are. Yes, you bought something that is a Sprouse item for a few thousand but that doesn't mean that you are the end all be all of fashion, now does it? I was just having this conversation with my friend Karl Cyprien and it was apparent that a new crop of people are lost.

Speaking of Raf Simons, ever since he went to design for Jil Sander I have not been able to get ahold of him. So Raf if you are reading this, email me!

Me and my homegirl A$A in November of 2008. (Venice, CA) A$A is a perfect example of an artist.

By the way, That Fish Sticks episode of South Park was the best episode ever! I never laughed so hard in my life. I sent that link out to everyone I knew. I know Matt Stone and Trey Parker via writer/homie Arthur Bradford. I love those guys because they are literally funny in real life as well! And they are not even trying... to say the least. I knew they would do something on Kanye West one day but man, they really hit the nail on the head. It was GENIUS! Nuff'said.

What makes me laugh even harder is that Jimi Hendrix, Kubrick, and many others do not need to prove anything to anyone or win awards to show people that they are worthy. They have changed the world and penetrated a generation and generations after that. No need for ego. I mean, Larry Clark has inspired legions of people of the last 40 years plus! Fashion, film, photography, art, music but you will never see him bitch fight in the press (unless its some asshole journalist trying to say Larry is starting a fight in the press when its actually not true) and you will never hear Larry be desperate for an award for validation of his talents. You will never hear Larry say that he is a GENIUS when he truly is one.

*** If you didn't see it, than here is the link.

PS. I decided that I would add new photos each time I blog. My friend Karl thinks I should video blog but for right now that is just too much. A new photo each time is alot but might freshen this little blog up somewhat.

OH! and one more thing I don't get is spoiled bratty online internet stars? I heard about some and mainly met some... and they really think they are something! And the encouragement they get from the older set doesn't make it any better. The older set is just using them to advance somehow and its quite sad how the young thinks they are actually entitled to be hell raising bitches. (Where are their damn parents?!) You know who you are.

Today's BLAST from the PAST... Tahiti 2005 ! Noa Noa !

Of course you know the famous photo where I had been crying for hours:
Photobucket
There were some paintings in Tahiti made from this picture (I don't know why) but I will post it as soon as I find it on my other computer.

In the same magazine and separate article. Tarita Brando.
Photobucket

I wanted to put this up because I have had Tarita on my mind and because Tahiti/Paris are like my second homes now in 2009. Its funny to read in this article I say that I am living between Los Angeles and Mexico City! Wow, so much has changed since then. That is not the case now at all.
I have had Tahiti and Paris on my mind everyday as well.
So I found it appropriate to blast this from the past.
Every month or so I do that, I will just reflect from my past.
(in one way or another)
Great things always happen for me in France, I don't know why?
French was the second language I learned besides English.
I even learned it before I learned Tagalog, the Philippines national language.
But to be honest I know Spanish alot better than I do Tagalog. Tagalog is spoken to me everyday and its on tv but I don't speak it as well as I do Spanish.
I guess it was because I WAS living in Mexico City and Oaxaca City in 2005!
The funny thing is that I look the same which I used to dislike but I am so grateful that I haven't aged and gotten any wrinkles like the other people I know.
But my body has filled out. Moi derrière et moi bustier ajustements plus fortement!
So I have this baby face with a woman's body. I do not have the body I had when I was 25.

I don't speak French unless I have to. But all of that will change because I am well loved in France and they have been my biggest supporters since 1999. I owe the French alot and I will update you on my progress with my work there.

I can't tell you how much I love France!
And since Tahiti is one of its colonies, I am an honorary French woman...
Tahiti aka French Polynesia!

* Look up Tahiti if you are interested. There is alot of culture there. Here is a link.

I really adore Eva Green. She is my favorite actress right now. Here is a snippet of why I adore her. Look her up if you don't know who she is.

In addition to her acting career, Green has modeled for Breil, Emporio Armani, Lancôme, Heineken, and Christian Dior SA's "Midnight Poison" perfume, in an advert directed by Wong Kar-wai. She followed in her mother's footsteps by supporting Unicef. She has also expressed interest in returning to the theatre, and has no plans to go to work in Hollywood because, "The problem with Hollywood is that the studios are super powerful, they have far more power than the directors. My ambition at this moment is just to find a good script." She added she would probably just get typecast as a femme fetale there.
I LOVE EVA GREEN!

No one is more humble and intelligent as Eva. She is a goddess with killer looks

What I love about Eva so much is that she understands what its like to just want to work with great people whether its in front of the camera or behind. She isn't like the American actresses I know. Don't get me wrong, I have many American actress friends but there is a huge difference between the way the American actresses are trained to work than the European and Asian actresses. The Asian and European actresses get to work with directors who are extremely creative because unlike America, they do not have studios sucking all the creativity out of the process. If you are in the business you know what I am talking about. There is nothing wrong with working with the studios and there is nothing wrong with not wanting to work with the studios. I prefer to make movies that have a strong script and I prefer to make movies in a country where nudity isn't the topic of conversation. Eva is right, America has violence on the streets and on screen but they are so afraid of sex! I am not going to call out directors I know but most of them in America shy away from nudity but will not think twice about using violence. There is nothing wrong with sex or the naked body. We see our naked body everyday. There is nothing wrong with sex. Unless you are in the church or a total prude, you've had sex with yourself or with someone else so its not that big of a deal. And I hate it when American actresses have to defend themselves or talk about why they did a nude scene. WHO CARES! There was a certain actress I saw the other on tv and she was explaining that her scenes were not gratuitous. I started to laugh so hard. Since when has being naked been gratuitous???!!! Only in America they would make you feel that being naked or having sex is gratuitous! That is absurd and ridiculous! I wished those actresses would shut up sometimes and just listen to what they are saying!

I always felt that Eva was the only peer who understood where I was coming from. Well Liv Tyler understood me very well AND she also worked with Bertolucci. I love being in Asia and Europe because they understand me quite well. That is where my destiny lies.

"Eva is so beautiful, it's indecent" - Bertolucci
