One More Time...
I forgot to say some things in my last blog.
The greatest thing I did when I turned 29 was reflect on my whole life.
The mistakes, failures, good, bad, accomplishments, deaths, births, and how grateful I should be to still be alive to grow from it all.
I am so blessed.
Many people don't get the chance to see their 29th birthday. I am very grateful.
I have forgiven myself for the mistakes I have made and I pray that people will forgive me for the mistakes that I have made as well.
All you can do in life is accept what is happening right now and move on. Change and grow but most of all LEARN.
I remember moving to LA when I was 23 years old but I actually started living in Los Angeles when I was 21 in the year 2001. So many things have happened to me since then and all I did was sit and think about my life on my birthday. I let the film of my life play out in my mind. The good, the sad, the ugly, the horrific, the happy times, the sweet times, and etc.
Its unbelievable that I am still in one piece.
There were some times in my life that I wished never happened! But now I am a better person because of it. There were a few deaths that changed me forever and a few births that did the same thing. There were a few people that I didn't like that taught me the most important lessons that a friend could never teach me. I thought about someone that taught me alot of life lessons and it touched me.
Seeing things in hindsight was overwhelming.
Being in LA and going to the old haunts really put things in perspective.
I remember what it was like living there and things haven't changed.
Well the only thing that has changed is this new technology boom with myspace, youtube, facebook, and etc. These internet stars Tila Tequila, Cassie, Lily Allen, Cory Kennedy, Soulja Boy, and the fact that everyone can make a movie, be a critic, say anything they want to say... as Elliot Mintz once told me, "Darling, its the black hole of media. If you censor it, it might as well be television." Now you have to know who this Elliot Mintz is? He is a genius! Still with those words, he is still sharp!
I thought to myself, I wondered if my life would have been any different if I were 21 years old right now? What in the world would have happened to me? I don't know if I would have been able to cope with the book of the internet. I thought it was out of control back then but its worse now. I look at the Wikipedias of other peoples' and they list all their articles and interviews. None of mine are listed. Alot of my interviews and television spots aren't listed. I guess it was before the era of Technology. I know girls my age that just started to become popular in 2006 who seem to have more press coverage than myself but I have tons of magazine covers from Asia and Europe but none are listed. So its pretty interesting. Its almost like if you don't list your interviews and your magazine covers/press it doesn't count! And its like this race to see who can market themselves better on the internet? It's definitely new but not really new. Its a whole new game just from a few years ago! When I was 23 I don't remember this kind of thing happening? When I was 23, I lived in LA and I had a Publicist. I did all kinds of photoshoots for all kinds of magazines i-D, British Vogue, V Magazine, and I went to all of the shows front row. That was never shown on the internet. I remember doing a photoshoot with Paris Hilton when I was 22 years old before she was famous and that was never shown. Ha! And I remember being with her in LA for fashion week and it just being like whatever. Now-a-days, its serious. People just going for it, going out to get scene, calling Paparazzi like the world is going to end and pretending like they didn't call them and calling gossip columns giving tips when its really them calling in! MY MY MY.
Also, I think you have to be pretty avid to be keep up and sometimes I don't care. But DAMN, Diablo Cody was discovered on the internet! AND I LOVE HER! Perez Hilton and Necole Bitchie have made names for themselves and it seems like you don't have to do anything these days to be famous and you don't have to have a degree to be an internet critic.
I try to keep up but I am still honing my writing craft and I just gather with other writers sometimes. We are just a bunch of boring nerds. We don't do anything but talk about writing and talk about books. I laughed to myself and I thought how boring I've become. I am so glad that I am not 21, 22, 23 anymore because I've had too many experiences to last me 50 lifetimes!
I am ready to settle in and just be domesticated!
Bring it on!

The month of February... for me... (& memories!)
Has ushered in happiness disguised in sad tears.
My birthday was a true surprise this year. What happened to me, I never would have expected in a million years. HA! (As Andre 3000 would say.) I wasn't happy I will tell you that much but that situation did open a new door. Which was going to happen to me whether I wanted it to or not! Isn't that how life is sometimes?! Yeah.
I celebrated my 23rd birthday by moving to Los Angeles from New York, getting an apartment in Santa Monica and having Larry Clark shoot me for the cover of Rebel Magazine. A prestigious out of print magazine from France.
My 24th birthday was celebrated in Los Angeles. I remember being at the Standard Downtown... and than being in New York having dinner with Michel Gondry and Paul Gondry.
For my 25th birthday I was in Paris working with Michel on The Science of Sleep and we partied at Le Baron. Drinks on Agnes B. and everyone was there! Chloe Sevigny, Daft Punk, Elodie Bouchez, Pedro Winter, Gael Garcia Bernal, Gaspar Noe, my friend Gael Foucher, Michel Bernstein, Christophe Lemaire from Lacoste and Olivier Assayas met me the next day to take me to dinner for my birthday. Larry Clark and Spike Lee called to wish me well. It was a merry ole TIME! I rented The Dreamers by Bertolucci since Michel was letting me pick out something to rent since it was my birthday and he freaked out when I put the dvd in.... "Is this the kind of stuff you watch?!" He says that during the clip where Michael Pitt has Eva Green's photo on his penis! ha ha ha!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I know Michael Pitt and I was there for his first audition for Larry Clark and when he got cast for the movie Bully so I was soooo not into that part but I still crack up thinking of Michel's reaction! ha ha ha.
My 26th birthday was great! I owe that to Sarajane Wilde, Dave Morrison, and Michel Gondry... and Sean Lennon.
I don't know who paid for the drinks and dinner at the Chateau Marmont but it was nice!!!!!!!!
I saw Andre 3000 for a coffee before-hand, he was off to get a massage. Fonzworth Bentley came with his two friends. I met this guy who was the lead singer to Autolux and I forget his name but he came. I met him at Meg from the White Stripes bday party. He was their opening act. Liv Tyler came with Victoria Clay and Tatiana Von Furstenberg and her husband. My assistant Nick Kerkhoff was there. Sean played on the piano and sang Benny and Jets and Money Mark played along. Scarlett Johansson was there in pajamas with Josh Hartnett... and I saw a girl I met from Sophia Rossi named Katherine there. Sam Spiegel was there and Steve Aoki came by to say hello. We were supposed to go to Cinespace afterwards but we all decided to go to Teddy's instead. I don't remember what happened after that though. I also remember laughing at Sean and telling him he was the funniest guy I know and he was like.. what about Fonzworth!? He has a lime green sweater on?!!!! ha ha ha ha
It was sort of surreal because I have one friend that is from Texas that is still alive that I talk to and she wasn't there. And I only have one neighborhood friend who is still alive that I talk to. Believe it or not, the rest are dead or in jail. Its sad. Its cool to have all these people at my birthday but its kind of weird since I did not grow up with them. But I guess I can't be complaining about my life.
When I turned 27... back track here... alright... when I was a kid my favorite director from the Philippines was Cirio H. Santiago, than it would be a tie between Eddie Romero and Lino Brocka. I realized that Cirio H. Santiago was one of Quentin Tarantino's favorite directors too! Quentin and I happen to be bosom buddies... and I heard from someone in New York that Cirio was in Los Angeles. I tracked him down like a bandit! I called Quentin squealing like a pig..... on his answering machine and what does he do? Calls me back squealing!!!!!!!!!!!! We both couldn't believe that THE Cirio H. Santiago was in LA! I arranged a meeting with him on MY birthday! Cirio wanted to meet at Nate-n-Al's! He told me it was an old Hollywood meeting place. I was the first to arrive and I was shaking all the way there. Ahhh lord... I was the only young person in the room... and it was so easy to spot him! And then a few moments later Quentin comes in with (I forget) something for Cirio to sign. Awe... I will never forget that birthday. Quentin was about to do press for his movie Death Proof and it was great that we got to meet our idol Cirio H. Santiago! Oh yeah, QT and TL's fav. Santiago flicks are The Muthers, Death Force, and Ebony, Ivory, and Jade!
When I turned 28, I was with my bestfriend Claudia Wu at the Coffee Shop in NY. I was a hostess there when I was a teenager, when I stopped modeling. The next day we met up with Andre 3000 at The Grammercy Hotel in some private area to celebrate. Than later we were joined by Damon Dash, Irina, Margarita Missoni, and Erin Fethersen... (not sure if these names are spelled right... I will check later.) That was fun because Andre never ever goes out and to see him was like seeing a fictional character come to life!
29.
The great age.
The last year I will be in my twenties!
I am going to live everyday like its my last.
I am going to just go for it. (So should you!)
I lost my wallet and you can't rent a car or stay at a nice hotel without a credit card! I had loads of cash on me but that didn't matter one bit. I didn't worry about it though but that sort of stressed me out. Mitchell Gutman and I had food and drinks at this Thai restaurant called Toi. I always wanted to go there because Quentin told me that he used to write in there for hours and I wanted to see what this place was all about. It lived up to its promise and I saw that the Pulp Fiction poster was strategically positioned next to a Godard poster of Anna Karina... I know why. Do you? I will post the photo I took of it on this blog later. Than I went to Hyde to meet up with Yacine. Than to the Chateau Marmont for the sake of it and old memories... and Yacine, Mitchell, Yorgan, and I had a really nice time. Yacine and Yorgan left. Mitchell and I went to some bar in Silverlake and it smelled like vomit! I don't know the name of the place. HA!
I put medicine on my face and it burned my skin! There were two burn marks on my face. And scar marks from when I was sick! That was not good. It should have been the Omen for the night. I got dressed in my vintage white embroidered mini dress and wore black wedges. I ate Thai food, went to Happy Endings (which I thought was like the New York version but its not, its more like a frat bar.), and than called it a night.
My life changed that night though for many reasons.
My last year of my twenties, nothing is going to get me down.
I love it!
I love life.
Yippie!
So that is what happened. I know I didn't write about my birthday but I have been traveling all over the world in a short span of time and I haven't been able to blog. Just dealing with alot of things too. Upset with alot of things too! But in the end, Happy.
So now. After the Grammys! I had to leave town. In LA they did have the Cirio H. Santiago Tribute at the New Beverly Cinema on the 10th! Man I was kicking myself for not attending that but Brian from the theater just emailed me and told me that they might have another one in a few months. Quentin and I will be attending that one for certain!
So what did you do for Valentine's Day?
I felt sleepy!
I had a great Valentines.
OH yeah! Me Magazine's newest issue is out now!
I will blog about that later.
Now I am tired of writing here.
Gotta go.
PEACE!

Post Grammy
Now I'm on an even bigger hiatus than before... but Grammy night was unusual. I've been going to the Grammys since 2004 and this seemed to be the most unusual one so far.
I couldn't and I still can't wrap my head around the whole Rihanna / Chris Brown debacle. Shit happens and I wish people would just stop persecuting Chris, you never know what went on in his childhood. You just can't judge people, help them. He needs to get professional help. Be positive people. I hope they both heal from this situation.
* That whole situation got me thinking about alot of things.
Usher...alright his wife was having plastic surgery in Brazil??????????
OKAY.
My favorite picture from the Grammys thanks to my homegirl Necole Bitchie at Necolebitchie.com...... what up gurlll?!!!!

I adored this little outfit and M.I.A. dancing on stage! I felt proud to see her because I know how far she has come. What a beautiful surprise. Shout out to Diplo too! Congrats! How funny was it when M.I.A. came out and people were so shocked by her outfit that they weren't really looking at Lil'Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye, and T.I. posing on those steps?!!!!! LMAO! She showed them up. That was funny.
Where was Beyonce?
But I agree with this little blog right here:
I think Usher, Beyonce, Chris Brown, and Rihanna could have saved the Grammy's this year. I think that this was the worst Grammys I have ever seen!
Grammys 2009
YA'LL WEIGH IN.................
I was jumping up and down for Lil'Wayne and screaming when he won.
(happy for Play-n-Skillz)
By the way, I am in the happiest mood!!!!!!!!!!!
It feels good to be me.
Be grateful everyone.
Peace out.

How long does it take you to complete a project?
Kanye West PRIDE (In the name of LOVE)
For Kanye its 3 weeks.
Beyonce
For Beyonce its 2 weeks.
Nikki Reed
For Nikki Reed its 6 days.
Stephen King talks about various authors taking from 2 days to ten years to finish a novel.
For me, I have too many projects piled up. I need to have just one or two and complete them fully one at a time. If I can't do the project justice and do my best work, than I should turn it down. One of my terrible habits is not being able to say no but this year will be different and it will be apparent. I have seen how much I have grown over the years. Thank goodness. I don't want to talk too much about this subject of projects. You will just have to wait and see.

Be Patient
Do the Work...
Persevere
And as my friend Claudia says, "Baby steps."

My friend Aleta; Everything is divinely guided.
I haven't been speaking to many people at all because I have been down in the trenches working. But I spoke to someone that I hadn't spoken to in awhile.
My friend Aleta. She just reminded me that everything happens for a reason. To not force anything and that everything has to be on the same wave length.
I had a situation recently that made me think twice about my interactions with people. But I learned alot thinking about it. I learned to be more considerate (of this person's feelings) and I also learned to be more generous (with time apart and my precious time). This past situation also reminded me of a situation in 2005 that I went through. And in that situation things weren't going my way and I tried to force them to go my way and things just weren't working out. And when I resisted it I got slammed in the face pretty hard. I don't know why I hadn't understood this before but even when you fail and when things don't go your way you may not realize all of the valuable lessons that were in that situation. So with this situation I am in now, I realize that its a blessing and I accept it. There is obviously something better for me down the road. I am excited to see what that will be all about.
I am grateful for everyone that I have come across in my life. Good or bad.
I won't resist anymore.
Alright I am tired, my speech is slurred.
Goodnight,
TL
These paragraphs below were from a spiritual site, I don't know who but I found it interesting, maybe you will too?:
Every time we focus on something we are calling it towards us. With our thoughts and beliefs, we invite people, situations and material things into our life. Often we can use our energy in resistance. Many invoke this law without being aware of doing it.
Your conscious mind can discriminate between a negative and a positive instruction but your unconscious mind cannot tell the difference. The following words invokes this law: don't, can't, wont or not. You become what you resist.
Whatever you resist persists in your life and uses up your energy in struggle. Never resist failure or poverty. Instead attract success and wealth. Always embrace the positive rather than resist the negative. Releasing control frees energy.
One positive way of transforming negative thoughts is to write them down and then burn the piece of paper.
Then write down what you do want so as to attract that into your life instead. If you are in conflict you stay stuck.
If someone is blaming another for what is happening in his own life, he is a victim who is resisting taking responsibility for what he has created. Anything that you are resisting has a message for you. If you have recurring patterns of failure constantly picture yourself succeeding. Quit resisting. Decide what you do want in life and start to send out magnetic, excited, Enthusiastic energies to draw the positive to you. What you resist persists in your life and drains you of energy. Embrace what you do want and feel alive.
Law of Attraction
You have drawn towards you everything and everyone who is in your life. You send out into the ether the story of your patterns, emotional energy, mindsets, and denials, likes and dislikes. People who do not resonate on our frequency simple are not attracted to us. The vibration you emit is made up of your conscious and unconscious energy, some magnetic, some repellent and some neutral. Like attracts like Qualities such as love, kindness, delight or generosity transmit a high frequency and magnetize people with similar energy. The universe provides mirrors for us to look into. Our underlying beliefs attract people and situations to us. If you think negative thoughts you attract negative people and situations to you. Whenever something is not materializing, as you would like it, examine your underlying feelings and change them. The inner attracts the outer. If something in your outer world is not what you want it to be, look inside and shift how you feel about Yourself. You will automatically attract different people and experiences to you. Remind yourself of your good qualities. Send out positive light and wait for a miracle to be drawn towards you. You are a magnet: you attract like to you.
The Law of Request
Under spiritual law, if you want help, you must ask for it. It is better to help another only when they ask you for help.
If you feel you want to help someone else without their permission then you need to look at the part within yourself that feels the need to rescue them. A being of Light never interferes with your life. But they will save you from an accident or death if it is not your karma. They will also see you make mistakes so you can learn and grow. There are times when you may wish to ask for help. This is done calmly and with strength. As soon as you are ready to ask for help you are ready to receive it.
You are ready to accept the wisdom that goes with it. Then the higher powers will align themselves to help you.
The person who is steadfastly walking the spiritual path goes within to look for answers. As soon as you are ready to know something the teacher will appear to provide it. When you are ready to formulate the question, you are ready to receive the answer. When you need help first quiet and centre yourself. Meditate on what you really want and find clarity about it.
Then request help to your spiritual helpers. The answer lies in the question. The more clarity you have in your question, the fuller the help you will receive. They will always help you. The universe is waiting to help you. All you have to do is ask.
As Within so Without
Earth is a place of learning where our lessons are presented to us by making our outside world an exact reflection of our inner world. If you feel secure, loved, safe and happy inside you will have secure, safe and happy people in your life. If you feel angry, self-critical or feel rejected deep inside, you will have people who get angry at you, or put you down or who abandon you. The universe rearranges itself to reflect your reality. Literally as within so without.
Your body is a mirror of your deep, often unconscious, inner feelings. The left side of our body reflects our attitude to women and the past. The right side reflects our attitude to men and the future. The words we choose to use also reflect the condition of our bodies. So if you have a 'pain in the neck', who is being a 'pain in the neck' in your life. If you say or think it enough times, you will get a 'pain in the neck'. The kind of car we own is a deep inner reflection of who we are. Like wise, our home and our pets reflect our inner qualities. The higher beings who watch over us cause the material objects in our life to alter according to our inner state. So if we want to change something in our lives then we need to alter our beliefs and attitudes in order for our outer world to change. The universe rearranges itself to bring you what you believe.
As Above so Below
This is the first Law of the Universe. On Earth as it is in heaven. The Universe loves you and holds a vision of your future as an enlightened person no matter what mistakes you are making on Earth. God does not judge you, only encourages. You have free will to make your own choices in life. God will not force you to do his will. he Universe waits without judgment as we experience and learn. When we are ready it opens new doors. God wants us to be happy, fulfilled, prosperous and healthy.
Grammy Family
This week in Dallas, Texas Play-n-Skillz threw one of the best parties of all time. I wasn't there but I know how they get down. Plus my friends told me it was great. MTV wrote about it and I am very happy for them. They are nominated for 3 Grammies this year. They have worked so hard and I know they are going to bring one home for the Big-D.
Tonight Andre Saraiva and Justice are doing a show in Los Angeles for Belvedere. I am sure that will be fun.
What else???
I have some rewrites to do so I will be working on that.
I am excited to see what the outcome of this year's Grammy's are!?!?!?! I finally feel like my generation is up for alot of the awards this year! I am putting all my money on Lil'Wayne of course. I also have to say I loved Kanye West's song Heartless. I hope that song wins something. You just know Los Angeles is going to be raging with parties. Its only fun when you have invites and friends there. Otherwise, you aren't missing much.
Ohhhh, Valentine's Day is coming up!
Cupid better aim his arrow straight for me!
More later,
Tiffany

Yuko Sueta FUND RISING $23,000.00
I am posting this for my friend Miho Aoki of United Bamboo clothing. I am also a huge supporter of fighting Breast Cancer.
If you can help, please donate.
Thank you,
Tiffany Limos
Start Time: Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 3:00pm
End Time: Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at 6:00pm
Location: please drop off the $ at Natori Resturant
My friend Yuko Sueta (who you may known as Natori resturant waitress) is suffering from Stage IV breast cancer right now.
She has been fighting this disease for 4 years.
Unfortunately she has no family support and has been supporting herself. Luckily, she has few sincere friends who has been also helping her with living expenses. However, now that her condition has deteriorated and she can no longer work at Natori, making it difficult to even cover her living expenses.
Currently she is receiving treatment from NYC hospital but her condition hasn't improved.
Her hope is to go to a clinic in Mexico where she will try an alternative treatment.
I am trying to collect $23,000 for this Mexican clinic for Yuko.
Please kindly donate if you can. THANK YOU very much!
If you could drop off or mail out the check, money order or cash (any money will help) at Natori Resturant, that

Scaring You to Action
America's self-dubbed 'scary guy' offers his ideas for improving the world and ourselves.
BY: Stephen King
Excerpted from a speech delivered by Stephen King at the Vassar College commencement, May 20, 2001.
I have to tell you the scary truth, because that's my job. You know the old proverb, don't you, about the woman who carries the drowning scorpion across the raging stream? Once they're on the other side, it stings her and as she staggers to her knees, dying, she reproaches it for ingratitude. "C'mon lady," it says, "you knew I was a scorpion when you picked me up." And you knew I was the scary guy when you picked me for this job, so deal with it.
That human life is brief when placed in time's wider perspective is something we all know. I am asking you to consider it on a more visceral level, that's all.
What will you do? Well, I'll tell you one thing you're not going to do, and that's take it with you. I'm worth I don't exactly know how many millions of dollars--I'm still in the Third World compared to Bill Gates, but on the whole I'm doing OK--and a couple of years ago I found out what "you can't take it with you" means. I found out while I was lying in the ditch at the side of a country road, covered with mud and blood and with the tibia of my right leg poking out the side of my jeans like the branch of a tree taken down in a thunderstorm. I had a MasterCard in my wallet, but when you're lying in the ditch with broken glass in your hair, no one accepts MasterCard.
If you find yourself in the ER with a serious infarct, or if the doctor tells you yeah, that lump you felt in your breast is a tumor, you can't wave your Diners Club at it and make it go away. My life, as it happened, was saved. The man who saved it was a volunteer EMT named Paul Fillebrown. He did the things that needed to be done at the scene, and then he drove me to the nearest hospital at 110 miles an hour. And while Paul Fillebrown may have an American Express Card, I doubt very much if it's a gold one or, God save us, the black one that offers double Frequent Flyer miles and special deals at Club Med.
We all know that life is ephemeral, but on that particular day and in the months that followed, I got a painful but extremely valuable look at life's simple backstage truths. We come in naked and broke. We may be dressed when we go out, but we're just as broke. Warren Buffett? Going to go out broke. Bill Gates? Going to go out broke. Tom Hanks? Going out broke. Steve King? Broke. Not a crying dime. And how long in between? How long have you got to be in the chips? "I'm aware of the time passin' by, they say in the end it's the blink of an eye." That's how long. Just the blink of an eye.
Yet for a short period--let's say 40 years, but the merest blink in the larger course of things--you and your contemporaries will wield enormous power: the power of the economy, the power of the hugest military-industrial complex in the history of the world, the power of the American society you will create in your own image. That's your time, your moment. Don't miss it. I think my generation did, although I don't blame us too much; it's over in the blink of an eye and it's easy to miss.
Of all the power which will shortly come into your hands--gradually at first, but then with a speed that will take your breath away--the greatest is undoubtedly the power of compassion, the ability to give. We have enormous resources in this country--resources you yourselves will soon command--but they are only yours on loan. Only yours to give for a short while. You'll die broke. In the end, it's the blink of an eye. I came here to talk about charity, and I want you to think about it on a large scale.
We have enormous resources in this country, but they are only yours on loan. You'll die broke.
Should you give away what you have? Of course you should. I want you to consider making your lives one long gift to others, and why not? All you have is on loan, anyway. All you want to get at the getting place, from the Maserati you may dream about to the retirement fund some broker will try to sell you on, none of that is real. All that lasts is what you pass on. The rest is smoke and mirrors.
Here's another scary thing to think about before you leave here. Imagine a nice little backyard, surrounded by a board fence. Dad--a pleasant fellow, a little plump, wearing an apron that says YOU MAY KISS THE COOK--is tending the barbecue. Mom and the kids are setting the picnic table by the backyard pool: fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, a chocolate cake for dessert. And standing around that fence, looking in, are emaciated men and women, starving children. They are silent. They only watch.
That family at the picnic is us, ladies and gentlemen; that backyard is America; and those hungry people on the other side of the fence, watching us sit down to eat, include far too much of the rest of the world. Am I overstating? Well, America contains 5% of the world's population and uses up 75% of the world's resources, so you tell me. What we scrape down the kitchen disposal after Thanksgiving dinner for a family of eight would feed a Liberian village for a week, so you tell me.
We've elected an administration--I guess we elected them, we might as well say we did--that takes a dim view of charity as national policy. George W. Bush talks about "compassionate conservatism," an oxymoron right up there with "jumbo shrimp" and "humane execution." What he's talking about has been Republican Party bedrock for a hundred years; it amounts to, "Don't give a man a fish, give him a fishing pole and teach him to fish." (This, of course, would be before idiotic conservation and environmental policies render the whole concept of "fish" irrelevant.) My own philosophy--partly formed as a young college graduate without a job, waiting in a line to get donated commodities for the kids--is by all means give a man a pole and teach him to fish, but people learn better with full bellies. Why not give him a fish to get started?
Giving isn't about the receiver or the gift but the giver. It's for the giver. One doesn't open one's wallet to improve the world, although it's nice when that happens; one does it to improve one's self...I give because it's the only concrete way I have of saying that I'm glad to be alive and that I can earn my daily bread doing what I love. I hope that you will be similarly grateful to be alive and that you will also be glad to do whatever it is you wind up doing. Giving is a way of taking the focus off the money we make and putting it back where it belongs--on the lives we lead, the families we raise, the communities which nurture us.
Right now we have the power to do great good for others and for ourselves. So I ask you to begin the next great phase of your life by giving, and to continue as you begin. I think you'll find in the end that you got far more than you ever had, and did more good than you ever dreamed.

Cirio H. Santiago Tribute (R.I.P.) Serge Gainsbourg Tribute
One of my childhood heroes was Cirio H. Santiago and I was blessed enough to meet him in 2007. I remember sitting infront of the television when I was a toddler and watching all his terrific B movies. I can't take all the credit, my father was his ultimate fan. (Thanks dad.)
Tonight in Los Angeles at the New Beverly, they are doing a tribute to Cirio H. Santiago. Quentin Tarantino lent them some of his priceless prints and they are screening them tonight. I will have to contact Brian at the theater to find out which films but if I am not mistaken, they will be showing THE MUTHERS and EBONY, IVORY, AND JADE. (Just tried to call the theater, he is not answering) I just figured that they'd be showing those two films because those are mine and QT's favorite Santiago flicks! (AND he owns the only prints available on the planet EARTH, AND I've seen these films at his personal theater with him at his home, in AUSTIN, TEXAS during the QT FILM FEST, and in the Philippines WITH Cirio H. Santiago present!!!!!) *** update! Brian just called me back and he said that the tribute will be moved to February 10th. Alot of special guests will be there and I will update you on that. AND they are going to show THE MUTHERS AND EBONY, IVORY, AND JADE... TOLD YOU SO! (wink) **** so stay tuned for the updates, thanks.
ALL HAIL THE PHILIPPINES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (only true b movie heads would get this and true cinema connoisseurs of international films. ie. tarantino and Gilles JACOB (The President of the Cannes Film Festival, whom by the way knows all of the classic and b films of the philippines! He was Lino Brocka's biggest fan.)
Speaking of Cirio H. Santiago, Vincent Sandoval contacted me about doing a tribute in June. Not sure if that will happen because I am too busy this year with prior commitments. But if it does, I will be helping to bring Eddie Romero and Quentin Tarantino to New York. We'll see... Cannes is in May and I know Quentin is bringing his film there and if he's doing press after that, I highly doubt there will be a little festival in New York. But Q and I do plan to do a tribute in the Philippines, not sure when though. I will keep you posted.
Today I feel great for some reason. The new year started off okay and this little cold (which I think had been lingering) crept up on me! Than it just took me over completely! I was in a state where I just didn't want to talk to anyone or be around anyone. I just dabbled on this blog, read Angela's Ashes, and worked on this project that Larry and I have been crafting. (for forever!) I read some of Diablo Cody's blogs and they made me laugh. She wrote one about the Sham-wow towels and it was genius. (I also read her book Candy Girl and that had me rolling on the floor too.)
Today feels like the greatest day in my life. I have finally been able to catch up with writing and that makes me feel like the wealthiest woman in the world. Claudia and I are working on Me Magazine and that is all caught up with. Thank goodness. I still have more to do but I am taking it one day at a time. Yesterday was a little stressful because I was plotting my year. The end of January to June is a hectic time for me every year. Birthday, Valentine's Day, Grammys, NY fashion week, Paris fashion week, SXSW, Cannes.
OH, my cousin Jean Grae is performing at The New Museum! Go and check it out. I was supposed to be in New York throwing her an after party at The Submercer but my plans changed.
SERGE GAINSBOURG TRIBUTE IN PARIS
Voila, Serge Gainsbourg. One of my favorites in the world. I am definitely going to this tribute. See you there! Who does not love him? If you don't know who he is than you must have been living under a large rock or don't have a penchant for anything French. Because if you did, you'd know who he was. Get it together!
This is bringing back memories. Man, its been since 2005.... I remember when I was in Paris and Michel Gondry and I were working on THE SCIENCE OF SLEEP. I was watching Gael Garcia Bernal in that little suit and admiring the details of the sets. I remember when Michel was casting the film and he mentioned Charlotte Gainsbourg and I thought, perfect! She was just perfect. That made me dust off every Gainsbourg item I had. Records, cd's dvd's, books, posters, you name it.
I can't wait to be back in France, eventhough I am there all of the time. I can't wait to see this tribute. Awe, makes me want to day dream.
(SNAP!)
Gotta go, gotta write.

Ps. One of my friends just posted something new on his blog, he is going to be performing at the Serge Gainsbourg tribute as well. Check it out!

Tonight in Los Angeles at the New Beverly, they are doing a tribute to Cirio H. Santiago. Quentin Tarantino lent them some of his priceless prints and they are screening them tonight.
